This dress is not an obvious choice for the winter but I currently can’t stop wearing it. Despite the bold print and the bright colours, I just love how this dress can be styled for the colder months. It looks amazing with tights and a pair of boots.
I’ve been amazed by how versatile it is. I’ve worn it so many different ways, but being a casual kinda-gal, I like it most dressed down with tights and a pair of ankle boots. Although having said that, I did wear it with some statement over the knee boots from Topshop (see them HERE) on a recent night out and it had to be one of my favourite looks in ages.
Part of the reason this dress is so versatile and wearable is its long semi-sheer sleeves, elegant neckline and high split which gives it a flash sexiness. However, this isn’t a dress where you have to worry about pouring out of or flashing parts you don’t want on show. It’s one of those pieces which you make you feel great but is still super comfortable.
For someone that usually avoids colour like the plague, it’s pretty impressive how much I’ve worn this. The colour combination really works. Yes, it has a lot of bold colours but somehow, they don’t overpower each other. The touches of autumnal tans and bronze really help to give the dress that wearability factor.
Also, as I am on the short side, I usually don’t find flowy maxi dresses all that flattering on me. However, this one just seems to work. I think a lot of it is down to the quality of the fabric and cut of the dress.
The dress comes with a coordinating fabric tie-up belt but I found it suited me better with my own leather belt. If you’re taller than me you could get away with both options and have the best of both worlds.
I’m going to be honest and say this isn’t the cheapest dress but it wins on quality and wearability. The Dress Label has worked tirelessly for 18 months to create British made dresses in limited numbers which make you feel fabulous. I would honestly say this is a great investment as you can wear it across the winter and summer. How amazing is this going to look on a beach with tousled hair and gladiator sandals?!
