I couldn’t have been happier to see so much lilac gracing the S/S18 catwalk. It has always been my absolute favourite colour and I am fully embracing it this season. You’ll be so surprised at how versatile a shade it is. Whether it’s a dress, knitwear, suit or pair of shoes, trust me, you need some lilac in your wardrobe stat!
When I spotted this beautiful dress on Elvi’s website I immediately knew it was a must-have. Elvi is a brand that came onto my radar quite recently and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. Not only do they have gorgeous clothes with a unique twist at VERY affordable prices, they also are an all-inclusive brand, covering sizes UK8-28.
I can’t get over all the gorgeous details on this dress. I’m obsessed with the adorable buttons running down the sleeves. The contrast between the billowing sleeves and fitted cuffs is also such a gorgeous touch. This is exactly what I mean when I say Elvi designs clothing with a twist, it’s all about the details with them.
The dress is very smock-like which sometimes is exactly what we all need, especially when you know you’ll be going out for a big meal! However, if you prefer a more fitted look, then just add a belt to emphasise your waist. I added my vintage Chanel chain belt and loved the overall look it gave.
They’ve also dropped this dress in the most beautiful red which is top of my wish list. If you’re not sold on lilac yet (how could that possibly be?!) then you should definitely check out the red version HERE.
Although I love a girly touch, such as this dress, I tend to like my overall look to have a bit of an edge. I think lilac looks best when it’s slightly toughed up. Pair it with grey or black and unexpected textures if you want to stay away from that “girly girl” look.
As it’s still bloomin’ cold in London, I’ve added my trusty Charlotte Simone fuzzy bomber. I’ve had this coat for at least 2 winters but this year I’ve worn it more than ever. It’s so cosy, a perfect statement and never fails to raise a smile. You can see it styled previously HERE, HERE and HERE.
Talking of things I can’t stop wearing, I’m in those pearl boots yet again! I don’t think I have ever got such good value for money out of a pair of shoes before. These were a major bargain at £45 and I must have worn them 50 times already, that’s less than £1 per wear. My favourite way to style them is with a pretty dress, such as this one, as I love that contrast between delicate and chunky.
I’m so happy to say these boots are back in stock, you can shop them HERE. If you’re tempted but in need of a bit more style inspo check out some of my previous posts featuring them HERE, HERE and HERE.
