That New Dress Travels: Halloween (American Style)

Halloween in LA

Its been ages since I’ve done a proper lifestyle blog post, so I thought it was about time to update you on my current shenanigans and when better then Halloween in LA?! Being my first American Halloween I wanted to soak up every ghoulish, outlandish and ridiculous ounce of the spooky spirit engulfing the city.  The lead up was incredible, with people in our neighbourhood going all out on the decorations.  Everywhere you went you were greeted by pumpkins, themed candy and immense excitement.  Lets just say the Americans seriously know how to celebrate Halloween.

We all know the best part of a night out is getting ready with friends, laughing and being merry.  So that’s how the night began…

Of course, there were the essentials to tackle first – hair and makeup;

Although it wasn’t long before we pulled out the face paint and were transformed into our Halloween alter egos.

Suddenly we couldn’t fight the spirit of Halloween any longer as the kids in us came out to play and we laughed and cackled till our cheeks ached and bellies hurt!

After a little too much beer (Budweiser of course, as we were sticking to the “all American theme”), one bunny, one Katherine Pierce from Vampire Diaries, a sort of cat and a half pirate/ half “blog photographer” ventured out in search of one America’s largest Halloween street parties with a skip in our step and a wag in my bunny tail.

It wasn’t long before we were amongst the throng of people all dressed to the nines, where I quickly fell in love with Captain Jack Sparrow, met a real life cupcake, before deciding my calling in life was definitely to be one of those air dancers you find at the car dealership.

By the end of the night we were weary from too much excitement, so with aching feet we trudged home reminiscing on our first Halloween in LA and the spectacle we had just witnessed.  London I love you, but no one embraces the spirit better than blessed America!  I’m already looking forward to next year!

    This looks like such an amazing night. I wish I could have been there as well. I really like your costumes. They look great but actually don´t seem too much effort which is what the type of costume I really like. You also look like you´ve had so much fun and that´s the really important part.
