SILK PEEL REVIEW WITH PHICLINIC

Turning 30 in January was a real game changer for me.  Since reaching this new decade I’ve decided to embrace my strengths and let go of my flaws.  The insecurities I carried around with me like mammoth weights during my teens and 20s have finally begun to melt away.

So, it would beg the question, why I have chosen to embark on a cosmetic journey with PhiClinic on Harley Street now?  Over the next few months, I will be undergoing a series of treatments ranging from peels to skin tightening to filler and Botox.

I cannot speak for every woman who undergoes any beauty procedure, whether it be threading their eyebrows or having rhinoplasty, as each decision process is personal and unique.  However, I can share my reasons.

I’m not doing it because I want to look prettier or gain approval from others when it comes to my appearance.  Instead, I’m doing it for me.  I simply want to be the best possible version of myself.  I see this journey to happier and healthier skin as a celebration of being “me”, rather than a need to “improve me”.

I really hope this doesn’t come across as arrogant but I think it’s important to stress having procedures such as peels, Botox or fillers, doesn’t need to be shrouded with negativity.

Last week, I officially began my journey to better and happier skin with PhiClinic.  PhiClinic was initially recommended to me by a friend.  I booked a consultation appointment with Aesthetic Nurse Specialist, Sam and immediately knew this was the clinic for me.  The level of expertise, knowledge and consideration was a massive pull.

My number one priority was I felt like I was in safe hands and I certainly do at PhiClinic.

The first step on this journey is to tackle my congested skin.  I have suffered from problematic skin since I hit my teens. Thankfully the angry spots disappeared in my mid-20s but the enlarged pores and congestion has continued to rage on.  Sam recommended a Silk Peel to help extract the impurities and tackle my uneven skin texture.

A Silk Peel is an intense exfoliation done with a diamond-tipped handheld microdermabrasion device which simultaneously infuses topical serums into skin to improve its health and achieve a natural glow.

The overall sensation of the Silk Peel is a mixture of suction and sandpaper.  Although it’s scratchy, it doesn’t hurt.  Plus, the immediate infusion of serum feels soothing and hydrating.

Once the microdermabrasion element was completed, Sam put me under a red and blue LED lamp to soothe the skin.

The overall procedure takes around 45 mins.  There’s absolutely no downtime and I left looking seriously glow-y!  The only thing I did notice was my skin felt a little sensitive and in need of some hydration that evening but by the next day, it was completely back to normal.

If you have an event this is an ideal quick fix or if you’re looking to improve your overall skin texture, it’s recommended to do a Silk Peel every two weeks.  I’m planning on doing a couple more myself, so I’ll keep you updated on the progress and any improvements.

I will be sharing every step of my journey to better skin either here on the blog, over on my Instagram Stories and on YouTube (the channel is launching in November!).

If you’re interested in any particular procedures and would like to know more information about it, let me know and I will try to answer any questions you have.

Don’t be wary at all on what your readers would say about doing these self-care procedures. I used to do most of these from microdermabrasion, chemical peeling, micro needling and I loved it every time. It’s good to take care of your skin when you are young to give time to heal and achieve the results that you want. It also helps you look after yourself more. I like to follow and support you in this journey. It’s good for me to know as well the current trends and machines used in your part of the world.

I need to finally set na appointment for some beauty procedures like microdermabrassion – I used to go from time to time as a teenager but in my 20’s I’m just too lazy, only from time to time I have to go to a clinic to remove some changes on my skin made by sun to make them less visible and prevent some cancer changes.

I have had a chemical peel before and loved the results but I have never tried a silk peel. I have enlarged pores and congested skin too so I’m going to have to see if they offer this in my area.
