I am so happy the pyjama trend continues to reign on in the fashion stakes. On weekends I find it a real struggle to change out of PJs; aren’t cosy pyjama weekends just the best? You can read more about my pyjama obsession in My Five Favourite Loungewear Pieces (catch it HERE).
Anyway, to cut a long story short you can only imagine my relish that it’s now fully acceptable to rock the pyjama look all day!
When I saw this satin jacket from River Island it was like a moth to a flame. I immediately knew I needed it in my wardrobe. Plus it had the added bonus of being more than 50% off in the sale. A total must have!
I love that it can be dressed up or down. I’ve gone for a more glamourous look here with a low cut bodysuit but it would look equally fab paired with a crisp white shirt for a chic office or lunch date look. There’s also a gorgeous cream version with black contrast piping which I think would look gorgeous dressed down with some boyfriend jeans.
FYI sizing comes up a little large, so I recommend sizing down, unless you want that oversized look. I’m usually a UK 8 in jackets but in this, I’m wearing a UK 6.
This outfit is a bit of a special one for me, as it goes slightly against the grain of my usual style. I feel particularly elegant in this, even though I’m basically in jeans and flat shoes. I think a large part of that was to do with the timeless jewellery I’m wearing. I’m usually all for a statement necklace or crazy costume jewellery but in this, I felt these understated pieces elevated my look into something much more sophisticated.
Zinny’s Box is an up and coming jewellery brand who focuses on creating timeless designs using impeccable craftsmanship and although it makes you feel like a million dollars, it surprisingly doesn’t cost it. Having now embraced beautifully made, elegant pieces I think I’m going to struggle to go back to my cheaply made costume jewels. It’s definitely true what they say about quality and the difference it makes to how you feel. I have the stunning Fleur collection, which you can see HERE, next on my ever-growing wish list!
These amazing ZARA slides continue to reign well into Autumn as my favourite go to shoes. I’ve had so much wear out of them so I’d definitely argue it was £39.99 well spent. However, if I could go back in time I’d get these ZARA beauties instead (click HERE to see them) which are VERY similar but are that bit more statement and look like they’d be a bit more durable. If you’re thinking of treating yourself to some black slides, I’d recommend spending the extra £10 to get these ones I stupidly missed!
