It’s not often I hear about something that gets me this giddy with excitement but London Zoo’s Gir Lodge Overnight Experience well and truly caught my attention. This has to be the most unique sleepover in London.
London Zoo is giving adventurous animal lovers the opportunity to spend a night within a whisker (excuse the pun!) of the new lion’s enclosure, Land of the Lions. Land of the Lion is the zoo’s latest exhibit which transports visitors to India’s vibrant Sasan Gir, the home of the Asiatic lions. Aside from the incredible lions, there is plenty to see as it covers 2500sqm, has three walkways and plenty of Indian influenced attractions to explore.
During this out of hours experience you’ll have the opportunity to not only spend some quality time with the lions, but also its other 17,000 residents. Ever fancied your own private zoo? Well, this is probably as close as you’ll ever get!
If truth be told you don’t get 5* luxury here but the lodges are cosy and sparkling clean. Each house either twin beds or a double, a sofa bed (for up to two kiddies) and an ensuite bathroom complete with toiletries. There is also a very sweet private veranda where you can make use of the kettle in your room and enjoy a hot chocolate while listening to the sounds of the zoo. Guests will also enjoy a delicious 2-course dinner and full-English breakfast. As well as entry into the zoo on both days, exclusive out of hours tours and complimentary parking.
The experience runs six nights a week right through to December, with designated family-friendly nights and adult only nights to ensure each stay is specially tailored to you. There are nine lodges in total, each will provide accommodation for up to two adults and two children.
