I already posted the first part of my brands to buy in the US which predominantly focused on fashion (with Apple thrown in there too) but I figured as I spent as much on beauty products as I did anything else, I’d dedicate a whole post on which beauty brands to splash out on when you are Stateside.
There are quite a few!
Clinque isn’t usually a brand I turn to for skincare but having heard repeatedly amazing things about their Dark Spot Corrector I knew I had to try. It was when searching for it in the aisles of Sephora I realised how amazing the savings were!
Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector – $79.50/ £94 (Approx saving = £43)
Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight – $22/ £29 (Approx saving = £15)
Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips– $19/ £17 (Approx saving = £5)
I think Benefit probably offer some of the biggest savings. I actually had a bit of a renaissance with Benefit while I was in the States and discovered so many new, fabulous products.
The POREfessional Face Primer– $31/ £24.50 (Approx saving = £14.50)
Hoola Matte Bronzer – $28/ £23.50 (Approx saving = £5.50)
Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara – $24/ £19.50 (Approx saving = £4.50)
When I’m in America MAC is the beauty brand I look forward most to checking out. Although their stores and much of their product is identical to home, I can’t help but come out with a bag full to the brim of goodies and knowing I’ve saved a few pounds makes it all the better!
Lipstick – $17/ £15.50 (Approx saving = $4.50)
Prep + Prime Fix + Sized to Go – $10/ £10 (Approx saving = £4)
Eye shadow x15: Warm Neutral – $85/ £65 (Approx saving = £10)
BECCA is having such a massive comeback after it’s recent collaboration with Jaclyn Hill who helped create Champagne Pop, only the best highlighter in all the land! Unfortunately, most stores have now sold out, although I believe it is still available online. However, if you don’t fancy paying for it, I am running a giveaway where you can win one HERE.
Shimmering Skin Perfector – $41/ £33 (Approx saving £7)
Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed – $38/ £30 (Approx saving £6)
Eye Tint – $24/ £19 (Approx saving £4)
I think I purchased at least 4 of these on various trips to Sephora because lets be honest they are beauty staples and you can’t have enough.
The Original – $20/ £16 (Approx saving = £4)
Mirco Mini – $18/ £13 (Approx saving = £2)
The NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer is my absolute favourite for covering blemishes, under eye bags and also contouring. They have so many beauty holy grails in their line it is impossible not to find something you’d want or more aptly put, need!
Audacious Mascara – $26/ £21 (Approx saving = £5)
Radiant Creamy Concealer – $29/ £22 (Approx saving = £6)
Bronzing Powder – $39/ £39 (Approx saving = £14)
Personally I think Urban Decay is far more popular Stateside than at home. Although if you are a fan in the UK, let me know which products you love as it would be great to know what I should be trying. Despite personally not being a fan I wanted to mention it because there are a few savings to be had.
Naked2 Palette – $54/ £38 (Approx saving = £4)
Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original – $20/ £16 (Approx saving = £4)
25/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – $19/ £14.50 (Approx saving = £2.50)
I think Fresh has overtaken Jo Malone as my favourite fragrance house. Actually perhaps they are more on a level pegging. Fresh is difficult to find at home, although it is available (they have a stand alone store on Marylebone High Street). However, it is really well recognised in the US and not only is it less money, but they also have a much wider selection of scents and skincare.
Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 – $22.50/ £18 (Approx saving = £4)
Rose Face Mask – $62/ £46 (Approx saving = £6)
Sugar Eau de Perfum – $88/ £70 (Approx saving = £13)
Anastasia Beverly Hills
The makeup brand beauty bloggers can’t seem to get enough at the moment is definitely Anastasia Beverly Hills. Originating from Los Angeles, it is no surprise the prices are less. I also had my brows shaped at her brow bar and it was by far the best I’ve ever had done.
Brow Gel – $22/ £17 (Approx saving = £3)
Contour Kit – $40/ £39 (Approx saving = £14)
Brow Wiz – $21/ £16 (Approx saving = £3)
Maybelline | L’Oreal | Bite | NYX | Makeup Forever | Tarte | Smashbox | Stila | Lancome | Laura Mercier | Milani Cosmetics | Bare Minerals | Too Faced | PTR Facemask | Mario Badescu | Covergirl | Revlon
There are a few brands which aren’t available in the UK, so although purchasing them technically isn’t saving you any money, I wanted to bring them to your attention because they are so darn good!
Bath & Body Works – Fab candles and the widest ranging scent selection I’ve ever seen.
Physicians Formula – I’ve been using their highlight since I was in my early 20s and I’m obsessed. I talked more about it in my June favourites which you can catch HERE.
Lorac – For the butteriest, smoothest eye shadows going you have to check out Lorac. I particularly recommend their Pro Palette 1 & 2.
Sephora does now ship to the UK so you can enjoy some of these savings when shopping online. However, there are a lots of items they don’t ship internationally plus things can get caught in customs where they add on additional duties often resulting in no savings at all.0
